Hand Embroidered Cowboys | Evil Eyes on Natural, Yarn-Dyed Cotton Poplin

These embroidered masks begin with a rich, soft, yarn-dyed cotton poplin. A craftsperson hand draws on the poplin, then hand outlines our vintage designs with embroidery thread.  Next, the artist fills in the outlines on a mechanical embroidery machine, which brings out details and sculptural textures that add to the design's charm.

Embroidered Cowboy | Bucking Bronco Face Mask

The cowboy mask features a vintage 30s cowboy design. The handsome cowboy rides a tawny bucking bronco in a landscape of wild west cacti.

Our cowboy mask features creams and greens accented by black, red and blue on a natural color ground.

Embroidered Evil Eye Face Mask

The evil eye is one of the world's oldest protection symbols-dating back at least as far as the Egyptians. Protection symbols like this offer spirited design cred and the confidence to re-engage with an uncertain world.  Wearing an evil eye is a graphically satisfying, color-splashed way to go forth boldly.

Our evil eye mask features luscious blues accented by black and coral on a natural color ground.

The CDC advises "the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others."

FAQs

How do I get a good fit?

We prototyped these masks more than 50 times to get the best fit. Masks should fit snugly but comfortably around the face to provide barrier protection without breathing restriction. Masks need to be adjustable to be comfortable over long wear.

Should I wash the mask?

Yes. It is ideal to wash masks after every wearing.

Washing Instructions

Hand wash or machine wash in cool water. Dry flat for best shape retention. Do not bleach.

Do your masks include filters?

No. We integrate a filter pocket so you can replace filters often. Hint: Filter inserts are either hydrophobic (resists liquids) or hydrophilic (absorbs liquids). Hydrophobic nonwovens made of PP (polypropylene) or PET (polyethylene terephthalate) are ideal.

How-to-Use

  • Observe all the normal precautions. Wash hands often. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Wash the mask daily
  • Cover your mouth, nose and chin properly with mask
  • Buy the right size mask. The goal is maximum barrier protection and long-wearing comfort. Most men will wear the large/XL. Most women will wear the medium/large. Younger adults and those with a smaller frame will wear the small/medium.
  • Pre-adjust the ear loops toward your ideal size to minimize how frequently you have to touch the mask.
  • Hold ear loops by your hands, face the concave side and identify the nose wire side.
  • Pull the loops over your ears to cover your nose, mouth & chin properly
  • Adjust the bendable nose wire for full mask contact.
  • Adjust the bendable chin wire for a comfortable, full-contact fit.
